06/06/24 – The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department is reporting that levels of Norovirus, Rotavirus and Candid auris are elevated for Ohio County.  The health department also reports that levels of COVID, RSV, Hepatitis A, Influenza A/B are trending low in the local community.  It is also noted that Influenza H5 was not detected during recent sampling.  These specific diseases and their identification as elevated in the Ohio County community is made through wastewater surveillance at the City of Wheeling’s Water Treatment Plant.  The treatment plant serves most of Ohio County and Benwood.
